Anne Sophie Dubois Beaujolais

Anne-Sophie-Dubois-Beaujolais-scaled

Anne-Sophie Dubois grew up in Champagne, caught the wine bug early, and headed to Burgundy to learn the ropes. Of course, the cost of entry into one’s own project in Burgundy is slightly daunting, to say the least. Anne-Sophie looked south, fell in love with Gamay, and ultimately decided to make the village of Fleurie her home. We have long loved her fruit-driven “Les Cocottes”, and so it is with great excitement that we welcome her more “serious” cru Beaujolais to the shop. Here, she uses a more Burgundian technique — de-stemming the grapes and eschewing the technique known as carbonic maceration that brings out the fruit forward flavors you find in many Beaujolais. Here, we have Beaujolais for Burgundy lovers (even aged in Burgundy barrels)! Both of these wines are from the cru of Fleurie. L’Alchimiste is named for the Paulo Coehlo novel that’s all about following your dreams! It is from a selection of vines over 40 years in age. Les Labourons is from a single plot of old vines, and Anne Sophie selects only the best grapes from this plot. We only received a small amount of each wine so please email [email protected] if you would like to reserve yours!
