Jolie-Laide Wines: New Release!
Jolie-Laide Wines
This is the one-man winery started by Scott Schultz a few years back. Scott moved to Napa from Chicago in 2007 and headed up the wine program at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon. There, he realized that he really wanted to be on the production side of things and began working for several highly regarded wineries – Arnot Roberts, Wind Gap, Ryme… Now, he focuses entirely on his own project Jolie-Laide, which means “pretty-ugly” – a French term for those things in life that can indeed be both pretty and ugly! Scott makes a tiny amount of wine each year (that is very much handmade by himself), and we are lucky to receive a few cases. This year we received his Melon de Bourgogne, Pinot Gris, Gamay, and a Gamay/Trousseau/Poulsard blend. Be sure to check out the labels, which highlight a different artist each vintage. These wines go fast so please email [email protected] if you would like to reserve yours! To learn more about Jolie-Laide click here to visit their website.
