 Domaine Pépière

DO01010418

We are always pumped to have the mineral driven whites of  Domaine Pépière on the shelf, and we just received the new release! Pépière is one of the standout producers in the Loire region of Muscadet where the Melon de Bourgogne grape reigns supreme and creates white wines that can honestly rival Burgundy (for a fraction of the price)! Marc Ollivier is the gentleman behind Pépière; his first commercial vintage of Pépière was 1985. And his wines were the first Loire imports for esteemed natural wine importer Louis Dressner. Pépière is known for their site specific Muscadet from vineyards that  are rich in granite and gneiss in differing stages of decomposition; the vines range in age from 20 to over 100 years old. This year we also received some of their red wines, Cabernet Franc and Malbec (called Cot in the Loire). For these prices you should really check out the whole lineup — from the steals like Briords Muscadet for $22 to Muscadet with age: Gorges 2014 for $34!
