Jolie-Laide Fall Allocation
We are thrilled and honored to once again have Jolie-Laide wines back on the shelf. If you are unfamiliar with this low-intervention Cali winery, here’s the story:
This is the micro winery started by Scott Schultz a few years back. Scott moved to Napa from Chicago in 2007 and headed up the wine program at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon. There, he realized that he really wanted to be on the production side of things and began working for several highly regarded wineries – Arnot Roberts, Wind Gap, Ryme… Now, he focuses entirely on his own project Jolie-Laide, which means “pretty-ugly” – a French term for those things in life that can indeed be both pretty and ugly! Scott makes a tiny amount of wine each year, and we are lucky to receive a couple of cases. P.S. Also be sure to check out the labels, which highlight a different artist each vintage.
